Previous editions in their performance aluminium level did not feature such a high quality finishing kit as you get here with the Shimano Dura Ace eleven speed components and Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes on the Cannondale CAAD12 Disc Dura Ace Road Bike 2016, right at the top of the CAAD12 range.

This step up in componentry is understandable considering the improvements that Cannondale have made to the frame and fork that are so impressive that they demand equally good parts. Building on their legendary CAAD10, Cannondale have simultaneously increased stiffness and ride quality to make this even more exciting a proposition.

A lot of this development comes from Cannondale's new Flow Modelling process. This has allowed Cannondale to shave off some serious weight off. This in itself would give you a tangible performance increase, but Cannondale have not stopped there with vertical compliance being increased for better ride quality without compromising the stiffness that Cannondale has become known for and has set previous bikes apart as superb race machines.

Another area that has improved the on bike experience is the updated Speed Save micro-suspension system that offers you 50% more compliance where you need to be comfortable enough to clock up some serious miles. Add into this the full carbon fibre fork and you can see how serious Cannondale have been about making this useably fast.

One of the most striking features of this bike are the Braze-on disc mounts that actually allow the disc frame to weigh in a few grams lighter than the rim brake version!

All of the above features mean swinging a leg over this bike will make you want to go fast, so you will be delighted that Cannondale have built it to their elite race geometry to help you out even further in your quest for speed. This means it almost mimics the SuperSix EVO Hi-MOD with a low front end and short wheelbase to give you an agressive position with superb handling abilities.

As mentioned at the start, completing this bike is Shimano's exceptional Dura Ace 9000 eleven speed components that are paired with hydraulic disc brakes, also from Shimano, as well as Cannondale's own HollowGram Si hollow forged crankset with OPI spider (which is one of the lightest on the market). The Mavic Kysrium wheels are what people would normally look to upgrade to, but not expect to find included in the complete specification, further emphasising the incredible build that Cannondale have put together for this CAAD12.

Undeniably then, this bike is perfect for those who enjoy going fast, be that an aspiring racer, competitive club rider or anyone looking to push their boundaries. This bike is ready to go with no upgrades required.
