Description
Enduro bikes have a hard job to do as they have to relish the descents and be able to climb goat like up any trail in order to reach the good stuff; fortunately the Cannondale Jekyll 1 29" Carbon/Alloy Mountain Bike manages both tasks with aplomb. Key to this versatility is the FOX Float Factory DPX2 EVOL with Gemini dual mode air spring system, which allows the travel to be altered from a plush, rock munching 150mm Flow mode to a stiffer, traction orientated 120mm Hustle mode by the handlebar remote. This change in travel also effectively alters the geometry, making the bike a more able climber in the short travel mode by steepening the seat tube angle. The dual material frameset uses a carbon front triangle paired with an alloy swingarm via a linkage single pivot.
Componentry is all decidedly top shelf, with a SRAM X01 Eagle drivetrain and Code RSC hydraulic disc brakes both easily up to the task of matching the Jekyll's design brief. FOX’s Transfer dropper seatpost provides 150mm of stroke, so getting the saddle well out of the way for playtime is a simple matter. The Stan’s NoTubes Flow MK3 29" wheels are, of course, tubeless ready, as are the renowned Maxxis Minion DHR and DHF tyres.
