Cervelo S3 Frameset 2015
With an 'S' that stands for speed, you know the 2015 Cervelo S3 Frameset is designed for one thing. With over 16 years of development, this bike is able to boost an ultra-stiff carbon fibre construction and a unique tubing design that helps to enhance top-end speeds and aerodynamic performance.
Cervelo's downtube design is a clear area where drag has been addressed. The down tube starts slim as it sits behind the headtube but then gradually gets wider to shield the negative effects of the water bottle cages before it finally connects to the bottom bracket.
The bottom bracket itself is wider, creating a greater level of crank stiffness and pedalling efficiency. The frame is 23% stiffer than its S5 big brother at the headtube and 16% stiffer at the bottom bracket thanks to the tapered nature of the tubing design. This stiffness comes with a slight penalty to aerodynamic potential, however, the increased stiffness ensures that more of your pedalling power is transferred down into the road.
Cervelo has utilised their Future Proof internal cable routing to ensure that the frame is ready to accommodate Shimano Di2, mechanical groupsets and even hydraulic groupsets.
The S3 Frameset is the platform for fast riders and privateers. It comes with Cervélo's FK42 fork, a Cervélo Aero seat post, and an internal FSA headset.
Features:
- Partial seat tube cutout improves airflow around the rear wheel while allowing for 700x25c tyre clearance.
- Borrowing from the Cervelo RCA’s rear triangle design, thinner seat stays offer class-leading comfort and compliance.
- Future-Proof Cable management allows easy set-up for mechanical, electronic, or hydraulic lines.
