"This became a staple item for me as we encountered conditions ranging from +28 to -3 degrees, sometimes in the same day, as I was riding day and night and covering up to 615km per day at peak mileage. I used it as a light protection from wind in temperatures up to around 18 °C, and when the temperature dropped, but it was not cool enough for a thermal, probably around 8- 10 °C. 

I used it most in the early mornings once the thermal came off, but the air was still damp/misty. Even with just a jersey or summer speedsuit underneath, it kept the air off my core, so I was able to stay quite warm wearing less kit, even when operating at low intensity efforts. 

Its breathability helped me wear it in warmer conditions as well, once I was beginning to fatigue and struggled to control my body temperature and needed more layers. 

So in summary, the windbreaker was a quick and easy way to keep the cooler air and elements off me, which maintained my core temperature without requiring me to stop and add layers of kit. I used it most at temperatures when thermals weren't required, such as early morning, though I also layered it with thermals at dusk. It was something I could easily take on and off while riding, which was great.
