Intended as a mountain biking pack for riders who like to explore, the Escapist 30 Backpack from Osprey is perfect for longer, multi-day adventures with plenty of space to carry everything required.
The combination of the Airscape backpanel, dropped lumbar support and split upper backpanel keep the pack in the right place for a comfortable carry whilst the padded hipbelt and sternum strap ensure stability whatever the terrain. The hipbelt also holds large zipped pockets for access to frequently needed items without having to remove the pack and the sternum strap includes an emergency whistle for extra safety.
External stretch pockets allow things like water bottles or a waterproof jacket to be kept close at hand and the LidLock makes carrying a helmet on the rucksack extremely easy and convenient. Compression straps allow the contents to be well controlled when the pack isn’t full to capacity and a front-panel organiser pocket with dedicated tool pouches keeps dirty or sharp objects away from the rest of the bag’s contents.
On the inside there is a stabiliser sleeve for larger items and a specific compartment to store a sleeping bag in on overnight trips. Should it start to rain, then the integrated raincover can be unfurled and fitted over the pack to keep out any water or mud.

Bought this rucksack for my cycle commute to work in the main, however it has been particularly useful in use as a day bag in the mountains when I have a need to carry a little more kit. Very comfortable, very well made and thought out. Very happy with the investment.
