I’ve been using this helmet for about a year. Earlier this week I was involved in a crash when a deer ran into my path. I hit the deer at over 40kmph (per my Strava) and was thrown over my handlebars, suffering a comminuted fracture of the clavicle and three broken ribs. It was only on inspecting my helmet the day after the accident that I realised my head had also hit the road. The helmet had done its job perfectly, the MIPS liner detaching and the foam collapsing at the back to absorb the force of the impact. I dread to think what would have happened and I not been wearing a helmet. I hope no one else has an experience similar to my own, but would highly recommend this helmet in case they do. This helmet absolutely does the key thing that it was designed to do.

POC Cytal MIPS Road Cycling Helmet

Had waited some months for the helmet to be available, POC would not allow pre order, decided to use SIGMA as the service is second to none, they sorted pre order with small deposit. Great service. The helmet arrived, it’s nicely finished and the fit is fantastic, fits my head perfectly, easy to adjust. First ride out feels great, aero gains? Feels like it😂👍😊 would recommend. Only insight is the original Cytal, in Black, clearly had the “wing” in raw carbon, mine is colour coded, was expecting the carbon wing to be in “raw” carbon. Upon e mailing POC they advised the “wing” is in fact carbon however painted as per the helmet seen🤔. I ordered glass white with the black insert, I like it’s a cool helmet. I originally had the POC Ventral spin, bit marmite! I however liked the fit and the quality of the helmet, hence my decision to buy POC again.
