Despite weighing just 100 grams, Petzl’s Swift RL Headlamp packs a 900 lumen punch and offers both STANDARD and REACTIVE modes. When REACTIVE is selected, the unit constantly monitors ambient light and automatically adjusts both brightness and beam pattern to provide optimal illumination at all times, enabling the battery power to be used more efficiently. For simplicity, a single button provides access to all the settings and there is a lock function to prevent accidental activation. There is a five-level battery gauge to keep an eye on remaining power and headband uses a split design to hold the torch stable and secure.
