Pirelli P Zero SmarTube Inner Tube

Pirelli's P Zero SmarTube Inner Tube is the lightest, strongest and most compact in their range. It's constructed from TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane), which has excellent mechanical strength and is highly elastic, making it twice as resistant to punctures as a butyl equivalent. Designed originally for WorldTour racers, amateurs using a standard clincher setup can now reap the same performance benefits.

  • TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is characterised by elasticity and mechanical strength
  • 60mm Presta valve
  • Compatible with disc and rim brakes

Give improved ride and weight saving, but beware of old rim tapes. Got several rim bed punctures till I fitted nice new rim tapes!

These are certainly lighter and smaller - they claim to be more puncture resistant, but difficult to prove that so far. I can't tell if the lighter weight makes any difference in use on the wheel, but it does make carrying a spare tube easier.
