Santa Cruz Chameleon Carbon C 7 SE Reserve 29" Mountain Bike 2020
Taking a much loved and venerable existing design and putting it through an evolutionary process has resulted in the Santa Cruz Chameleon Carbon C SE Reserve 29" Mountain Bike. Now featuring a full carbon frame this hardtail arrives with ingrained versatility ready for the trails, the jumps or bike-packing via comprehensive features and components.
The frame is possibly the most notable development within this bike as it has now morphed into a full carbon construction. Now lighter and stiffer, the increased responsiveness facilitates faster changes of direction and superior trail line accuracy. This advanced frame is mated to the Fox 34 Performance fork that adds plushness via its 120mm travel, smoothing the ride over rocks, roots and ruts for increased ride control.
The Reserve 29-inch wheels feature in-house designed full carbon rims that promote rapid acceleration and line alterations thanks to their low mass but also grant bombproof strength via an advanced composite material lay-up. These rims are paired to the super reliable Hope Pro4 hubs that offer slick-rolling bearings contained within an ultimately robust and low maintenance package.
Forward drive is taken care of with the dependable SRAM GX Eagle groupset. The DUB crankset is stiff and efficient and teams up with the wide-ranging 12-speed cassette and rear derailleur to offer multifaceted performance across a scope of terrain.
A RockShox Reverb Stealth dropper seatpost provides saddle clearance for tight and technical situations while the Race Face Aeffect handlebars and stem give a solid base for exact steering reaction. The package is then comprehensively completed by being adaptable to greatly varying terrain via simple, swappable dropouts. These dropouts facilitate the use of 29-inch or 27.5+ wheelsets and different tyre widths for an ultimately tuneable ride.
