Santa Cruz Hightower Carbon CC X01 29" Mountain Bike 2020
The Santa Cruz Hightower Carbon CC X01 29" Mountain Bike represents the pinnacle of trail versatility via a combination of the brands garnered experience and superior design execution. The Hightower embodies a do-it-all-well disposition and performs with aplomb across any off-road terrain be it rocky, sinuous, uphill or down dale.
A frame that features the height of Santa Cruz’s carbon technology delivers an ultimately agile and responsive ride with the chassis reacting to every rider input with consummate alertness. Winding through obstacles with aplomb, the ingrained sharpness is joined by progressive, assured cushioning that is promoted by the lower-link-mounted suspension system and its accompanying Rockshox unit. The frame is then amalgamated with the Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate suspension fork. The 150mm of travel supplied by this unit enables every bump to be smoothed and every line to be held with unperturbed precision.
Race Face ARC rims and their inherent strength rotate around the low maintenance DT Swiss 350 hubset, and together they combine within a 29-inch wheelset that carries momentum through any rut, rock or root. Gear changes through the 12-speed, wide-ranging cassette are enacted by the ultra-reliable SRAM X01 Eagle groupset while efficient forward propulsion is permitted by the SRAM crankset and its oversized DUB axle.
A hydraulic brake system allows strong but modulated braking, no matter the conditions while the Rockshox Reverb dropper post allows the saddle height to be adjusted on-the-fly corresponding to the terrain being ridden. The Santa Cruz carbon handlebar and Race Face Aeffect stem then facilitate quick, assured steering control.
A Flip Chip feature allows even more adjustment to an already versatile trail steed by offering rear shock adjustment. This can easily be altered by the user in line with what terrain the days riding has in store.
