The Santa Cruz Megatower Carbon C S SDS 29" Mountain Bike amalgamates a responsive carbon chassis with 29-inch wheels and vast suspension levels to result in the manufacturers hardest of hitting trail bikes. Entirely in its element thundering across the nastiest of terrain, the Megatower brings off-road confidence to hardcore racers and dedicated enthusiasts alike.
The frame is at the centre of the Megatower’s resilient spirit and features advanced carbon construction to promote trail hardiness and response. This chassis is fused seamlessly with its VPP lower-link-mounted rear suspension configuration for progressive and calm levels of shock rate. The FOX 36 Float Performance fork then complements the frame and together they unite to grant trail adhesion, composure and accuracy, regardless of trail complexity or severity.
Balanced geometry, gleaned from Santa Cruz’s extensive off-road experience, is supplemented by Flip Chip technology that is integrated into the rear linkage and rear dropouts. This feature allows the ride character to be fine-tuned and manipulated according to the forthcoming trail conditions and topography.
29-inch wheels ensure smooth passage across any root or rock-strewn track with their larger circumference seemingly maintaining momentum with apparent ease. These wheels feature the hardy and robust Race Face AR rims with their off-centre drilling allowing for ultimately equalised spoke lacing to the reliable DT Swiss 370 hubs. Gear changing is then courtesy of the proficient SRAM GX Eagle set up with this enabling trouble-free and accurate shifting across the wide-ranging 12-speed cassette.
Reactive power transfer from rider to machine is governed by the SRAM cranks and partnering DUB axle before braking is charged to a hydraulic configuration that permits modulated and exact stopping power. The RockShox Reverb Stealth dropper seatpost then facilitates saddle height changes on-the-fly before the build list is topped off by the Race Face bar and stem coalition.
