I bought this to provide some protection to my large Ribble SLR road bike when transporting it down to france in the back of a van (note the bag is not robust enough for air flight!). I didn't like the look of rotating the bars (which you need to do in the road bike version of this bag), as for a large bike it seemed a bit borderline whether it'd fit or not. This version is great as the space that is designed for the tribars means there is loads of space to fit the bars in their normal orientation. I strap a block of foam to the BB (you can get cycle specific ones from a large sports retailer starting with D) which keeps the BB / chain set off the ground. The bike is then nicely protected and in a bag that makes it very easy to quickly to take into hotel rooms (or move so you can access something below the bag). Saved loads of time when I got to the south of france as all I need to do was shove the wheels on and attach the pedals. I've removed a star to reflect it's steepish price, but it is well built and it doesn't seem to have any real competitors in the market.

I bought this bag to take my bike in the car so it doesn't get scratched etc! Brilliant bag.
