Specialized Allez Sprint Comp 105 Disc Road Bike 2022

The Specialized Allez Sprint Comp 105 Disc Road Bike has been designed as an aluminium alternative to carbon race bikes rather than as a budget option. The geometry and many features have been lifted straight from the pro-level SL7, ensuring that there is plenty of performance on tap.

The frame utilises D'Aluisio Smartweld technology and hydroformed aluminium tubing to make the most of the material’s properties. The downtube and bottom bracket have been formed from a single piece of aluminium to maximise stiffness and power transfer whilst the sculpted head tube has had the welds moved away from traditional locations in order to better distribute stress and reduce the amount of material needed. Indeed, despite not being an overtly aero-style bike, the upgrades have resulted in a bike that is 41 seconds quicker than the previous iteration over a 40km course.

Dropped seatstays mirror the SL7’s silhouette whilst the carbon fork and carbon seatpost are identical to the components on the top-tier machine and all contribute to the bike’s comfort over longer distances. There is even space to fit 32mm tyres if even greater compliance is required for poor roads and lanes.

With a complete 11-speed Shimano 105 groupset, the Allez Sprint Comp benefits from super-reliable shifting from the mechanical system and dependable, consistent braking from the hydraulic discs. The DT Swiss R470 rims are tubeless-ready and paired with Specialized Center Lock hubs for security and ease of replacement.
