Specialized Epic Evo Base Mountain Bike 2021
By offering both uphill speed and downhill control, the Specialized Epic Evo Base Mountain Bike is a very rapid, real-world cross-country option. With more travel than its race-bred brethren and sporting more trail-ready components, it combines the efficiency of the Epic with a more rounded character.
The FACT 11 full carbon frame sports 110mm of travel courtesy of the RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock, with the Rx XC Tune giving easy access to every plush millimetre of it whilst still doing a great job of controlling squat and bobbing for pedalling efficiency. Although the geometry is already a little slacker than the standard Epic, the inclusion of a Flip Chip allows further personalisation by changing the head angle and the bottom bracket height a small amount. RockShox’s Reba RL fork gives 120mm of suspension to the front end, controlled by their Motion Control damper. A TranzX dropper seatpost cements the bike’s all-terrain intentions.
As befits a machine made to cover ground rapidly, the tyres are 29” x 2.3”, but aren’t flimsy race-only rubber, the Specialized Fast Trak and Ground Control are great general use tyres and are tubeless-ready too, to match the Stout XC rims. Shimano M6100 hydraulic disc brakes and SLX 12-speed drivetrain provide dependable, easy shifting and braking, with the 10-51t cassette ensuring that the right ratio is quickly to hand up or downhill.

Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
