The Roubaix range from Specialized has been renowned for smoothness of ride it delivers, but with the Specialized Roubaix SL4 Expert Disc UDi2 Road Bike 2016 this is taken to another level.

The lightweight FACT 10r carbon fibre has been used in the frame construction to make a frame incredibly stiff yet also dampens the road buzz.

Endurance Road Geometry sets this bike apart from the rest of Specialized’s road bike range. Giving a more relaxed position, ideal for epic 100 mile sportives, but still feeling direct and lively enough if you want to sprint over a climb or push it hard round a hairpin corner.

Specialized’s fantastic Zertz system dampens rough roads and is used in the seatstays and fork, providing a smooth ride. This is the same shock absorption technology used on Boonen’s race bike.

Disc brakes are taking the road bike world by storm and Shimano's BR-785 hydraulic discs with Ice Tech resin pads are some of the best out there. Providing assured, power braking, whatever the weather. These are one of the many additions that adds to smoothness and control whilst aboard.

Fulcrum Racing S-19 Disc Light are light, responsive and designed specifically for disc brake setups. These are paired with Specialized Turbo Pro tyres that offer comfort, grip and puncture protection.

Electronic groupsets need less adjustment, wear slower and offer better shifting than their mechanical counterparts - all features that further add to the smooth and stress free riding experience. The Shimano Ultegra 6870 Di2 11-speed drivetrain is ready for whatever gradient you put in its way and is more than up to the task of getting you over even the steepest of climbs. This double chainring setup, paired with a wide 11-28 sprocket cassette, provides pin sharp shifting as well as a smooth and reliable ride. It is also really good to see the complete groupset here, with even the 50/34T crankset coming from the Ultegra range.

Finishing kit comes straight from Specialized, with a stiff and durable Expert level handlebar and Pro level stem, both lightweight and shaped perfectly for an ergonomic ride. Specialized have also added their Specialized CG-R, FACT carbon seatpost, which gives the rider an armchair ride, however rough the road is.

The final touch of a Specialized Body Geometry Phenom Expert Gel saddle is a comfortable, stylish and supportive one. This comprehensive package is completed by the phenomenal looking gloss light blue, rocket red and black colour scheme, which hints at the speed possible with this bike.
