What it does
Squirt Long Lasting Dry Chain Lube is a unique wax emulsion that delivers cleaner running and longer service intervals than oil-based chain lubes. The formula's properties suit road and MTB use across all conditions, with no degreasing required between applications - apply continuously and the previous wax layer flakes off cleanly during riding.
Use it for
Apply to a clean chain via the easy-drip bottle. Wait for the wax emulsion to cure before riding (typically a few hours). Build-up from dirt doesn't occur because the formula doesn't form a grinding paste - excess wax expelled by the chain hardens slightly and falls off during riding, so cleaning between applications is just a brush-down. Off-white colour with a mild odour. Store between 5°C and 35°C. Available in 120ml (regular use) and 500ml (workshop or frequent rider). Select the size that matches your riding distance.
I had read a little about Squirt on various web sites. I was impressed by the friction facts test where it came out very highly rated. With this in mind I purchased a bottle. it really is good value for money. Straight away my bike just seemed quicker. it's nowhere near as messy as other brands and seems to last longer. Wife was worried when I told her I'd brought some Squirt lube though conversation probably best kept to cyclists.
I put this on my chain before an audax. Initially I gave my chain, chainrings and cassette a thoroughly good clean and degrease before applying the Squirt lube. During the event we had over 6 hours of rain. When I came to clean my bike afterwards it still had the lube on it, hardly any dirt and all it took was a good clean and reapply more lube. What a great product? Much cleaner than using wet lube or oil based products and no need for degreaser once you’ve initially got all the old oil off your chain. I would definitely recommend this.
