A Shimano Tiagra 10-speed groupset hits the middle ground between performance and reliability and the compact chainset and wide-ranging 10-32 cassette brings plenty of range for steep hills and fast descents alike. Hydraulic disc brakes are confidence-inspiring, as effective in wet conditions as they are in the dry, so you'll always be able to stop fast when required. The combination of Bontrager wheels and tyres can be set up tubeless if you wish to benefit from even smoother rolling plus better protection against punctures.
