After looking for a new road bike I ended up purchasing from Sigma Sports in Melton. I have a Trek dealer on my doorstep in Sheffield and a Trek branded shop a few miles out of town. But only Sigma Sports were interested in taking the time to put a couple of different sizes on a turbo trainer so i could get a feel for the best size. The staff were knowledgeable, supportive, but not at all pushy. I ordered a Madone SL6 AXS Gen 8 in M/L. I'm only 5'8 but have a 32" inside leg, short torso and am +6" ape index. By the book I should have been on a Medium, but even the M/L felt a little short in the TT. I left the store with bike and 120mm stem on order and purchased a Selle Italia Superflow Saddle. Went back the following weekend to collect the bike, spent some time on the rollers again for a quick fit and adjustment of various contact points on the bike and went home a very happy chap. That's how bike shops should be, as someone who spent 6 years in the trade I really appreciate the level and quality of service they offered.
