I a cyclist who has Raced prepared rave bikes at a national level and worked in shops as a mechanic and sales man. The big brands should be worried by products like these! The carbon rim on these is bang up to date! Over 20mm internal width fantastic gully to aid fitting tyres, good bead lock to hold the tyres once inflated correctly, and Hooked rims! Hooked rims allow greater use of tyre and innertubes at higher pressure, so if you run tubless hit some glass and put a 1 inch slash in the tyre you can simply stick in a gel wrapper a tyre boot or even a fiver etc over the hole then inflate you inner tube to get back home, you can't do that on hookless and you go over 72psi on hookless! Then there is the use of Brass nipples this makes perfect sense in poor climates and increases durability at the cost of a few grams, Pillar spokes which are company starting to really pick up their quality, the wing spokes on these get fantastic reviews off many wheel builders. Last but not least is the hub, these are extremely well sealed cartridge bearings that then have a cap which also forms a seal the help keep the crap weather out, there is also a Labyrinth rubber style seal as well. The engagement on these are extremely fast! I would say feel identical to my DT Swiss 240 hubs with the upgrades fast engagement clutch rings. They are built extremely well, on a high end trueing stand they are 0.4mm off in any direction, and the spoke tension is extremely even. Tyre fitting wise my Pirelli TLR 26's pinged into position easily, but my Schwalbe ONE TLE took a little more effort to get over the bead lock. They are 24 spokes 2 cross pattern both sides which is perfect for modern disc brakes which now place lots of extra stress on the spokes. They ride extremely smooth and don't catch side winds any more than high end 50mm rims. They come with spare spokes nipples and nipple washers and nice long tubless valves. For the money they are spot on

The Vel RE aluminium hubs house sealed bearings for smooth running and longevity, with Center Lock disc fitments providing safe, secure disc rotor mounting. The rear hub uses a 102 tooth engagement ring with six pawls for super-fast engagement, so the instant the power is applied the bike will accelerate. The rims come with tubeless tape already applied and as tubeless valves are also supplied, the conversion to using these tubeless-ready tyres is a simple process. These rims can also be used with a traditional clincher tyre and inner tube if preferred.
