Bought a set of RL wheels last year which included this freehub, less than 4000 miles later noticed a clicking/pinging noise which I have since tracked down to the cassette sprockets 'biting' into the alloy body of the freehub. Filing down the burrs of 'bites' solves the problem temporarily but it eventually returns. The hub body seems to be made from a not very hard alloy, most other hubs have an 'anti-bite guard' to minimise this problem but it seems as though Vel have disappointingly decided not to include this feature, a shame really as otherwise it is a nice freehub. So it looks as though I'm going to be changing my freehub a couple of times a year, if I'd known this in the first place I would never have bought the wheels!

Less then 900 kilometres from new and the pawls seized, hub had seized to axel spindle, bearing inside hub feel gritty. So i'm having to replace the hub. Would not recommend Vel to anyone unless the live somewhere its very dry and warm or don't mind servicing there wheels every few 100k.
