The V5Rs Frameset represents Colnago’s lightest carbon frame to date, now presented in a striking limited edition Dark Titanium colourway that elevates its race-bred performance with a refined, modern aesthetic. As a leader in carbon fibre bike construction, Colnago continues its legacy with the V5Rs, delivering a frame that weighs just 685g in a midsize unpainted version. Despite its ultralight build, it maintains the stiffness and responsiveness that set the V4Rs apart.
In modern road racing, gaining an advantage on climbs and extending it on descents has become increasingly crucial, making precision handling essential. This was evident in events such as Tour de France Stage 4 and Giro di Lombardia in 2024. The refined fork and headset not only contribute to weight reduction but also enhance control and responsiveness, allowing riders to tackle technical descents with complete confidence.
To ensure fully integrated cable routing, the fork features a D-shaped section to house the cables neatly. The headset retains a dual bearing system, with a 1"1/8 top bearing and a 1"1/4 bottom bearing, as seen on the V4Rs. Colnago has also chosen a BSA bottom bracket, a decision made possible by the frame’s inherent stiffness. This removes the need for an oversized bottom bracket, further reducing overall weight.
