The GP5000S TR still offers fantastic grip thanks to the BlackChili rubber compound and the lasered micro profile structure of the tread surface whilst the flexible Vectran layer provides excellent protection against punctures without spoiling the ride quality or speed. In fact, Continental claims that the tyre is 20% faster rolling than the previous version.
Compatibility with tubes or tubeless and hooked or hookless rims allows the tyre to be used with a huge variety of rims for maximum choice.
These are the best tyres I’ve even owned in 32mm form. Every bit as fast as my 30s and the comfort running over the British rubbish roads means road buzz is almost non existent. Grip is exceptional wet or dry and so far no evidence of any punctures but good sealant may have plugged very small holes. You will never be disappointed with this choice especially in 32mm
An absolute pain installing the tyre on my new carbon wheels. They made my thumbs painful and numb, at the end I gave up and simply returned. Might be a poor fitting with my wheels but I read online in multiple reviews that they are very hard to fit. I can't afford staying stranded on the road with a flat for an hour trying to fit them back, a shame because they seemed very promising.
