I should start by saying the service from Sigma Sports was excellent. It is the product I have issues with. I bought this Oi Luxe Bicycle Bell to replace an Oi Classic, which failed when the plastic clapper detached from the spring after very little use. I was hoping for good things as I like the subtle styling of the Oi bell and thought the Oi Luxe would overcome the failings of the Classic with its more robust clapper arrangement. However the sound is very disappointing in that it is not as clear as the Classic, not even as loud (a relative term) and not consistent in the sound it produces. Sometimes there is a degree of sustain in the tone, other times not, likely because the extent to which the clapper is pulled back before release has to be very measured. Not ideal when suddenly needed. Also the black anodised finish was very quickly removed by the action of the brass end of the clapper, leaving a rather unsightly and obvious patch of exposed metal on the 'dome' of the bell. Considering the price I am disappointed in the Oi Luxe and must now find something better to replace it. This is becoming an expensive exercise.

I first bought the normal Knog Oi bell and had to return it after the spring bent out of shape. Decided to upgrade to the Luxe version and I have been very impressed with the built, sound and overall look and feel of the product. Unfortunately, the other day I used the bell and the bell fell apart, dropping the metal bit that hits it to the ground (took me a while to find it in the middle of the road). I have returned the item to Sigma Sports and asked for a replacement as I do believe this was simply a faulty unit and not a representation of the quality of this item. Will update the review once received and tried it more thoroughly. At present, I cannot recommend it, but that might change.
