As always, a great service from Sigma Sports. I ordered these Lake CX146-X Winter Road Boots (Wide Fit) Size 43. They appear to be well made, quite chunky, giving the impression that your feet are going to stay warm and comfy no matter what winter can throw at them. Unfortunately I've had to return them to as the sizing is way too small. I wear a 42 in normal shoes and size up to 43 for cycling shoes. Considering these are also a 'wide fit', my toes were squashed up when trying them on (wearing normal cycling socks).

The Lake CX146-X Winter Road Shoes are designed to keep you comfortable while riding in unpleasant conditions. The boot-style winter shoes have a longer length above the ankle to provide added protection from the elements. The Lake CX146 Wide feature a fibreglass-injected nylon sole, offering a balance of comfort and extreme stiffness. It provides a powerful transfer of power with noticeable climbing efficiency, whilst keeping the weight down to a minimum. The Lake CX146-X utilises a CX Sport wide last, which is designed for a broader foot, offering a secure hold and minimising unwanted movement.
Drilled for a typical three-hole cleat and compatible with the majority of road pedal systems, it also features reflective detailing for effective visibility in low light.

Take your foot measurement in a standing position while wearing your cycling socks.
Step 1: Trace your foot onto a sheet of paper. After you trace your foot take a ruler and make a line to mark the furthest point on all four sides as shown below.
Step 2: Length measurement (Points 1 to 2 as shown below). Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the longest distance from heel to longest toe (first or second toe).
Step 3: Width measurement (Points 3 to 4 as shown below). Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the widest distance of foot from side to side.
Step 4: Repeat steps for other foot as your feet may be different sizes. Typically you will want shoes that accommodate your largest foot the most comfortably.
*Add +5mm to your measured length to get correct shoe length.

Quality of Product
After many years of winter riding with overshoes I eventually decided to to get some proper winter cycling boots and now realise I should have done this years ago. I followed the suggestion of other reviewers and 'sized up' from my 45 Specialized summer shoes to 46 in the Lake boot and found the fit excellent. There are quite bulky after 'normal' cycling shoes and I need to fully release the wire from the Boa fastener to get them on and off but once I sorted this out they have been excellent. In a recent ride temperatures around freezing I never gave my feet a thought which was such a pleasant experience. I have not worn them in heavy rain yet but have no worries given the design of the boot.
