Excellent product as usual from Lake. Different last to my old CX332 (good thing but be aware), marginally wider in the front. Great service as always from Sigma.
Product Details
The Lake CX239 Road Cycling Shoes are made to give unrivalled cycling performance, with a supple upper and carbon sole unit delivering the perfect balance of comfort and instant acceleration. Technology trickles down from the CX333, including the easy-to-adjust BOA Li2 dial system and the integrated tongue, giving an easily customisable fit and reassuringly secure foothold. The Outlast tongue and heel lining keep your feet feeling fresh while an internal heel counter locks in your foot for a powerful and supportive pedalling platform.
The 80K Force carbon sole makes for eye-watering acceleration and super-efficient power application. Rated 80/100 on the Lake Force Resistance Scale, it's just right for rapid accelerations out of corners, powering up climbs and sprints for the finish.
The CX239s use Lake's CX/TX Competition Last. This gives the shoes a snug race-oriented fit with a curved profile, increased toe pitch and extra heel lift for an aggressive riding position. It also provides a slightly wider ball girth, allowing the foot to expand naturally under high pedalling pressures, while the tighter heel ensures a locked-in feel, delivering both comfort and control on the bike.
Sizing note:
Lake shoes run small. We recommend sizing up — most customers find they need one full size larger than their usual EU size. If you're between sizes, always go up. This applies to both the standard and wide fit versions.

Take your foot measurement in a standing position while wearing your cycling socks.
Step 1: Trace your foot onto a sheet of paper. After you trace your foot take a ruler and make a line to mark the furthest point on all four sides as shown below.
Step 2: Length measurement (Points 1 to 2 as shown below). Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the longest distance from heel to longest toe (first or second toe).
Step 3: Width measurement (Points 3 to 4 as shown below). Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the widest distance of foot from side to side.
Step 4: Repeat steps for other foot as your feet may be different sizes. Typically you will want shoes that accommodate your largest foot the most comfortably.
*Add +5mm to your measured length to get correct shoe length.
Reviews
These may be expensive shoes but they are worth every penny Well made and a great fit made easier by their own foot measure. The insoles like all cycle shoes I have had aren’t great a bit on the thin side.

Q & A
1 question answered
1 have a pair of cx238 43 wide. Will the cx 239 fit me in the same size?
Hi there, The CX239 wide uses the same Competition Wide last and sole as your CX238, so your 43 wide is the right starting point. A few riders have found the CX239 fits around half a size different though, so if you can, try the 43 alongside a 43.5 before you commit, Lake's own sizing tool is a good cross-check too. Many thanks Joe W
