I’ve used many different types of spd pedals over the years, but consistently, for flavour for money and performance, I always come back to the XT models. Engagement is easy, and crisp, mud clearance has never been an issue, and maintenance on them is virtually zero. The last set of xt pedals I had have lasted probably 7-8 years, during which time they’ve been on different bikes, commuted on, raced on, and I’ve never had them fail. Fantastic pedal, and personally unless you just want the kudos of the xtr badge; these are the equally as good.
