These Shimano XC503 Wide Fit shoes are ok but not great. I wanted two Boa dials really but went for the "cheaper" option of just one per shoe. The fit just doesn't feel secure enough, no matter how much I tighten the dial.

Shimano XC503 MTB Shoes
The Shimano XC503 MTB Shoes prove that pedalling performance needn't empty your bank account. Thanks to their BOA® Fit System, with an L6C dial and a Shimano-engineered lace profile, you can fine-tune your fit quickly and precisely. A partially recycled nylon midsole reinforced with carbon fibre provides the perfect balance of stiffness and efficiency, while the low stack height design keeps your foot stable and closer to the pedal for improved power transfer. The surround-wrapping upper reduces overlap, creating a supportive, glove-like fit that keeps you comfortable on long rides.
Confidence on the trails is guaranteed thanks to the lightweight SHIMANO ULTREAD XC rubber outsole, delivering competition-grade grip in all conditions. For added adaptability, rider-tunable spikes allow you to customise traction for mud, climbs, or wet and slippery race days. With a stiffness rating of 7/12, a sleek perforated synthetic leather upper, and 19% recycled materials used in the toe box and midsole, the XC503 MTB Shoes bring together performance, style, and eco-conscious design.
Pedal Compatibility
These off-road shoes are compatible with MTB and trekking pedal systems utilising the 2-bolt cleat system such as Shimano SPD, Look Trekking and X-Track, crank brothers Candy etc..
Sizing Note:
Shimano shoes run small. If you usually wear a 44, order a 45 here. If you're between half sizes, always go up.

Reviews
I recently purchased the Shimano XC503 Wide Fit MTB Shoes and I’m very impressed with their performance and comfort. The wide fit makes a noticeable difference, especially on longer rides, providing enough room without feeling loose or unstable. The build quality is excellent, as you would expect from Shimano, and the shoes feel durable and well-designed. The stiffness of the sole offers great power transfer while still allowing a bit of comfort when walking. The BOA dial system is precise and easy to adjust, even while riding. Overall, these shoes strike a perfect balance between comfort, performance, and quality. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable pair of MTB shoes, especially if you need a wider fit.

About Shimano
Shifting the way the world rides.
From a single Osaka workshop in 1921, Shimano has grown into the world's most influential component maker. The brand's relentless engineering — Dura-Ace, Ultegra, GRX, XTR — has shaped the way the world shifts, brakes and rides, on the road and off it.
Shimano's flagship groupset, Dura-Ace, has been the benchmark for top-level road components for more than five decades. Every refinement that lands on Dura-Ace eventually shapes the entire Shimano range, all the way down to entry-level drivetrains.
