Specialized S-Works Recon SL Off Road Shoes

The new S-Works Recon SL Off Road Shoes are designed to deliver high-performance on gravel and XC trails, building on Specialized’s expertise in road cycling to create something tailored to the needs of off-road riders. Using data from more than 100,000 foot scans taken during the RETÜL fit process, Specialized has developed a shoe that can accommodate a wide range of foot shapes with both a standard and a wide carbon base plate.

S Works Recon SL Highlights

To ensure that the S-Works Recon is both comfortable and strong, an internal I-Beam has been included which adds stiffness and eliminates the need for additional bracing. This creates a more intentional fit that is both supportive and tunable, allowing you to put all your power through the pedals.

The Body Geometry technology is integrated into every aspect of the S-Works Recon, the result of nearly two decades of research and development. With features such as the Varus Wedge, Longitudinal Arch, and Metatarsal Button, Specialized has ensured that your feet stay in their most optimal position when pedalling, keeping them inline with your knees and hips.

The S-Works Recon is the ultimate shoe for off-road cyclists, delivering unparalleled performance and comfort.

Size note

Specialized road shoes run approximately half a size small. When in doubt, size up — most customers find they need one size larger than their usual EU size.

Features
  • Body Geometry technology: Varus Wedge, Longitudinal Arch, and Metatarsal Button

Jason,

I ride road bikes with SPD pedals, and these are the closest in looks/performance/weight to road shoes with SPD cleats. For going off road/gravel these aren't the most hard-wearing durable. I use 3rd party insoles with these, as I didn't get on well with the Specialized ones. Love the shoes... with the caveats above.

Nige,

Had these a few weeks now and they do not disappoint it’s the 2 pair I have which are my go to shoes at the moment not rubbing on the first ride and light with the carbon soles just one thing is they do come up a little small I would go up half a size but because these are my summer shoes I always wear thin socks

About Specialized

Innovate or die.

Founded in California in 1974, Specialized began with a simple promise: serious riders deserve serious gear. Half a century later, the brand still funds its own wind tunnel, builds its own carbon, and tests every bike with the world's best so that you ride your own best.

The first production mountain bike. The first cycling-specific shoes. FACT carbon, the Win Tunnel, S-Works. Specialized has a habit of building the things the rest of cycling ends up copying.
