AMP’s Carbon Backed Disc Brake Pads for SRAM Level/RED/Force/Rival groupsets uses a ceramic pad for the ultimate in performance for hard riding and big descents. By using carbon fibre as the backing material, AMP claims that heat conductivity is 280 times less than aluminium and 38 times lower than steel, protecting the brake fluid from heating up. As an additional and very welcome benefit, the lack of vibrations from the carbon means that the brakes don’t squeal.
