After trying other top-end Winter jackets from Assos, took the plunge and decided to give Castelli a go. That meant 2x options (1) The Doppio ROS or (2) the Ultimate. Research indicated that the Doppio was the more expensive but more waterproof option. Since breathability in a fast-paced Winter bunch was my main criteria, I opted for the cheaper (in the sale at least) Ultimate. Have to admit, this is one heck of a jacket. Very light, very warm, and very breathable. Having now ridden it in all weathers, on cold and damp Winter days it's absolutely perfect. 1star knocked off for the pockets - seem to follow the latest trend of high pockets that are difficult to reach into with thick gloves. I followed Castelli sizing (93chest, 79 Waist, 93 hips, 186cm tall) and a Small is a nice Winter racer fit with a base (and mid) layer if needed.

The latest version colours are stunning, pro red or grey. Look for sale prices as the Castelli rrp is over the top. Brilliant fit and perfect for those 0c to 9c winter days. Tried and tested in pouring rain as well and I was impressed by how dry I was at end of 20 min downpour. This is my new goto colder day jacket… love it
