The Cervelo P5 is a pure time trial catalyst, designed for one purpose: to go as fast as possible from Point A to Point B. Equally at home on the Big Island as in a decisive Tour de France time trial, the P5 has proven its pedigree at the highest level, playing a key role in Team Jumbo-Visma’s Giro d’Italia and Tour de France victories in 2023.
On the latest P5, Cervelo has built a platform that is fast on its own and even faster when paired with the latest wheels and fit adaptations. Tyre clearance now extends to 34mm on wide wheels, improving aerodynamics and reducing rolling resistance. The lower basebar reduces CdA, while stack height has increased and extensions are now adjustable between 0 and 30 degrees in 5mm steps. For triathletes, the bike includes multiple storage solutions, essential for fuelling well enough to deliver a strong marathon. A size 61 has also been added to ensure taller riders can achieve the perfect fit.
The new one-piece front end, first introduced on the S5, is easier to assemble and adjust. Stack is adjustable up to 40mm, while the basebar sits 10mm lower to minimise frontal area. The new riser allows tilt adjustability from 0 to 30 degrees in 5-degree increments.
The latest P5 frame is about a watt faster than the previous version and clears 34mm tyres. This creates room for Reserve’s 77/88 wheelset with Vittoria’s 29mm tyres, a pairing that saves around 4 watts compared with the previous setup, for a total system saving of about 5 watts.
New armrests and pads are wider, taller, and thicker for greater comfort and stability. The increased surface area provides improved control, allowing riders to hold the most aerodynamic position for longer.
The fastback seat stay design reduces vertical stiffness by around 22 percent while maintaining the lateral stiffness needed for efficient power transfer. The time trial position may be demanding, but the new P5 helps riders reach T2 fresher and ready to run.
