Garmin Index S2 WiFi Smart Biometric Weighing Scales

There's so much more to fitness than simply monitoring weight and the Garmin Index S2 WiFi Biometric Weighing Scales provide a more detailed, holistic analysis of your health status. The unit builds upon the Index 1, adding in a number of small but significant changes. A whole host of measurements, including weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), body fat and water percentage and muscle and bone mass help you monitor progress. Pair to the Garmin Connect app via WiFi and you'll be able to look at trend graphs as well as gain access to other information about your wellbeing. Customisation of the Garmin Index S2 can also be carried out using the app.

Garmin S2 Display

The high-resolution colour display makes for easy viewing of your data, while there's the opportunity to add up to 16 profiles for multiple users. When connected to WiFi you can even view the day's weather, making it easier to plan exercise and activities. Despite all the advanced features, the unit is intuitive to set up and use, and you can also disable all of the added features and use the device as a simple weighing scale if preferred.

Bought these to enable weight to be downloaded directly into Garmin Connect App rather than running a manual spreadsheet. Additionally gives other metrics such as BMI, bone mass etc. which just reinforces what I already know - I'm fat! They recognise different users (if you don't all weigh the same weight) and updates the correct user automatically. Accuracy seems pretty good. All in all, a good product.

This scale links really well to the Garmin system, so if you use that, for example a Garmin watch for running or cycling, then it's great. Your weight is transmitted to your Garmin account, so you have a record of your progress. It also measures other metrics such as body fat, although I have some doubts about how accurate these additional measurements are because they seem to fluctuate quite a lot. Weight - which is the important one - seems to be spot on. The black glass shows any marks or water quite a lot, so if thats an issue for you you may want to go for the white version. It is quite expensive and there are cheaper similar scales available, but of course with this one you are paying for the convenience of the Garmin link.

Garmin has been navigating riders, runners and explorers since 1989. From the original GPS unit to today's Edge cycling computers and Forerunner watches, every product is built to put rich, accurate data into the hands of the people who'll act on it.

The Edge range is the most widely used cycling computer line in the world. Mapping, power, training load, structured workouts, group ride messaging, incident detection — Edge has set the bar most other head units now chase.
