I returned this (and am grateful, as always, for customer support from Signa), because the new design has introduced sharp ridges in the 3d padding, which is also softer and yields more than the previous version. I was concerned about this when I received the saddle and managed to borrow one to try it out. Even with a good Assos chamois, I felt the ridges through the pad; the surface compresses okay under the sit bones, but immediately in front of that, I found that the ridges dug into me, which became unpleasant after 40 minutes (I have had a similar experience with the Fizik 3D Versus, which also has a softer 3D pad). I had the saddle set precisely to match the previous generation 3D Kit Carbonio, which I find perfect because it doesn’t have any pressure points around the cutout. This version may work for some riders, but for me it has lost the best qualities of the previous model.
