Shimano Dura-Ace R9270 Disc Brake Caliper Front
With a one-piece body, the front Shimano Dura-Ace R9270 Disc Brake Caliper offers exceptional rigidity and braking accuracy while keeping the weight low. Installation is easy thanks to the shimless mounting bracket, and quick wheel swaps are facilitated by the direct flat-mount design. In addition, rotor compatibility is excellent, allowing either 140mm or 160mm sizes to be used.
Opposing oversized ceramic pistons guarantee braking power and consistency, while a 10% increase in pad spacing minimises the occurrence of brake drag, particularly during long descents. Resin compound pads include integrated fins for quicker heat dissipation, further enhancing control during prolonged braking.
A redesigned bleed port, valve screw and hose routing combine with the one-way internal fluid circuit to make bleeding and maintenance faster and easier, helping professional and home mechanics alike.

Q & A
2 questions answered
Is there any difference between this caliper and the rear one? Or is it just that the front one comes with an adapter for fitting to the fork?
Hello, This is the same caliper used on the front and rear, it just comes with the adapter for the front. Many Thanks Ashley
These have slightly more clearance than the older R9170 callipers. Do you know if they are compatible with the 9170 Di2 groupset? The extra space would be really useful for my current system.
Hi Alex Yes these will work with the older Di2 System Many thanks Joe W
About Shimano
Shifting the way the world rides.
From a single Osaka workshop in 1921, Shimano has grown into the world's most influential component maker. The brand's relentless engineering — Dura-Ace, Ultegra, GRX, XTR — has shaped the way the world shifts, brakes and rides, on the road and off it.
Shimano's flagship groupset, Dura-Ace, has been the benchmark for top-level road components for more than five decades. Every refinement that lands on Dura-Ace eventually shapes the entire Shimano range, all the way down to entry-level drivetrains.
