The Redshift Sports ShockStop Stem is a suspension stem engineered to reduce road impacts and vibrations that cause hand and wrist fatigue. Where standard rigid stems transmit every bump straight to the rider, the ShockStop adds up to 20mm of effective suspension travel with drop bars (10mm with flat bars) - meaningful comfort improvement on rough roads, gravel and long endurance rides without the complexity of a full suspension fork.
Construction & Materials
CNC-machined from 6061 T6 aluminium with internal elastomers that compress under impact. Five swappable elastomers ship with the stem (2 pre-installed, 3 in the box) - lighter riders use softer elastomers, heavier riders use stiffer ones. Rider weight limit 135kg.
Compatibility
Steerer clamp diameter 1-1/8 inch (28.6mm). Bar clamp diameter 31.8mm; 25.4mm and 26.0mm shims are available separately for narrower bars. Steerer tube clamp stack height 40mm. Available in 6° angle (lengths 55, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120mm) and 30° angle (80, 100mm) - the 30° angle allows the stem to be flipped up or down. Select the length and angle that match your bike fit.
Genuinely feels like a different bike. I use on my gravel bike, which was way too hard at the front end on bumpy stuff. This transforms it. It was too soft at the recommended settings, so I went for hardest setting, which I felt was better for a faster ride due to less bobbing. I wouldn't use on a road bike.
Really struggled with numb hands to the point of not being able to use my my rear brake. This has virtually eliminated the numbness. I have put one on my road bike and gravel bike and the difference is amazing. Cannot recommend enough! Credit to Sigma for researching and stocking such great products!!!
