I bought these shoes at Sigma Hampton Wick. It was well worth the trek as Marc helped me find the right sizing and the best brand for fit as I have very wide feet and protruding bones. The mesh textile upper is great for flexing at my pressure points. I highly recommend having your shoe fitted here by Marc who provided several options from Lake, Specialized and Shimano. Stellar service and not an intimidating experience (as other bike shops have made) as you’d expect due to being a woman.

Specialized Recon 2.0 Highlights
Engineered with a purposeful Body Geometry sole and footbed, it maximizes power, enhances efficiency, and minimizes injury risk by optimizing hip, knee, and foot alignment. The Injection STRIDE toe-flex technology allows for natural toe movement off-bike while maintaining stiffness for pedaling (Stiffness index 6.0). Additionally, its welded upper reduces seams for superior step-in comfort, and BOA® Li2-Snap dials enable on-the-fly micro-adjustment.
With SlipNot™ rubber tread providing confident traction on all terrain, a two-bolt cleat pattern compatible with all major MTB pedals, and an approximate weight of 357g (1/2 pair, Size 42), the Recon 2.0 offers a perfect blend of performance and convenience.
Sizing note:
Specialized shoes run approximately half a size small. When in doubt, size up — most customers find they need one size larger than their usual EU size.

About Specialized
Innovate or die.
Founded in California in 1974, Specialized began with a simple promise: serious riders deserve serious gear. Half a century later, the brand still funds its own wind tunnel, builds its own carbon, and tests every bike with the world's best so that you ride your own best.
The first production mountain bike. The first cycling-specific shoes. FACT carbon, the Win Tunnel, S-Works. Specialized has a habit of building the things the rest of cycling ends up copying.
