I have the older version of this frameset from when it came with the standard mount brake calipers. Firstly, the finish in the frame is exceptional, so that you almost wouldn't know that the frame itself is not carbon. Secondly the weight is very light for an alloy frame which makes building up the bike into a lightweight climber very easy. I used Ultegra initially then swapped for Campag Potenza as the black suits the frame better. Build weight with Prime 38 wheels was around 7.4kgs incl cages. Thirdly the handling is excellent. I have some decent climbs and descents near me and heading downhill the bike tracks beautifully. Finally, the price is spot on I think. I also have a CAAD12 frame and a carbon TCR and the Emonda rides as well as both (not quite as stiff as the CAAD12 or TCR but very smooth). My only gripe is the press fit BB which I think is unnecessary on Alloy bikes these days. Overall very pleased. I think if someone were wanting an outright race bike they should look elsewhere, but for an all day climbing machine this gets top marks.

Bought as a winter build but once it arrived I was blown away by the quality and looks. Ended up fitting Ultegra Mechanical, which is really smooth. The build was straight forward, internal cable routing was easy to install. I have a set of Fulcrum Racing 3's with Schwalbe 1's and after 2 rides-I have been blown away with the ride quality. It's fast and stiff and I never thought I'd say that of an alu' frame. It's smooths over the bumpy roads and accelerates like a Greyhound. Bontrager Aeolus Comp saddle is the best saddle I've ever had-short nose and large cut out. Well worth considering. Got the frame and some of the parts on the Cycle to Work Scheme so saved a few quid. Overall cost £1200 and it feels like a bike twice this price. Might just have to be a second summer bike-don't think I could take it out on the crappy roads of winter.
