On Thursday 22nd October 2015 Sigma Sports hosted the third annual #Rule9 Winter Event - an evening dedicated to all things winter cycling. A wide range of prizes were up for grabs throughout the evening, as well as a workshop demonstration, a Q&A session with Matt Stephens and the launch of the world's first Wahoo/Zwift demo centre.

As always the night was well supported by some of our key brands. Representatives from Assos, Castelli, Exposure Lights, Gore Bike Wear, Oakley, Sportful and Wattbike were all on hand to guide guests around their latest winter offerings.
There were regular prize draws throughout the evening, with lucky winners going home with prizes such as Gore Bike Wear 30th Anniversary kit, a Castelli Motorola Reflex Jacket with Soppaso Reflex Bib Tights and Oakley Glasses.
The #Rule9 evening also saw the launch of the world's first Zwift/Wahoo demo centre at Sigma Sports. Guests had the opportunity to try out a lap around Watopia, Zwift's immersive virtual island where you are able to train with other members of the Zwift community from around the world. GCN's Matt Stephens was on hand to supply entertaining commentary to the rider's efforts.
Riders were on board Wahoo's impressive KICKR power trainer, a direct drive turbo that syncs seamlessly with Zwift to display real time power and speed data on screen, as well as adjusting the trainer's resistance according to the terrain. This combination got the seal of approval from tech guru, Jason Bradbury - presenter of Channel 5's The Gadget Show.
Winter can be very tough on your bike; mud, grit, road salt and ice - a recipe for drivetrain disaster. Workshop Technician, Will Bridgman was on hand to present an informative demonstration on how to maintain your bike over the harsh winter months.
The evening reached its climax with a Q+A session from former Sigma Sports rider, Matt Stephens. Matt was able to draw from his vast experience to answer questions from the floor about how best to approach riding and training when the temperature plummets.
