Hambleton Bakery

Oakham

Heading to the Midlands we joined Daisy and Natalie as they headed off road on their gravel bikes to visit Hambleton Bakery. Discover the route the pair rode as part of this latest Soigneur instalment.

Located just north of the picturesque Rutland Water Country Park and nestled between Exton and Cottesmore sits Hambleton Bakery. An award winning establishment, their Exton location is just one of six bakeries run under the Hambleton name. As well as specialising in baking delicious bread, they also pride themselves on offering a haven for those looking for good coffee as well as a wide range of sweet and savoury treats.

Whether you are looking to visit it as a mid-road ride stop off or looking to finish a fun day out on the gravel, the bakery is easy to access from road or trail and is open seven days a week.

For this entry in our Soigneur guide, Daisy and Natalie started their gravel ride from Sigma Sports' Oakham store and headed out on to the trails before ending their ride with a stop off at Hambleton Bakery for a well deserved coffee and cake. Check out the route here.

Here's what Daisy and Natalie had to say:

"“Hambleton Bakery is the ideal place to swing by on a ride. A beautiful setting and delicious sandwiches, what more do you need?" - Daisy

"The perfect cafe stop at Oakham, the cheese toastie was delightful as well as the coffee. The ultimate pick me up." - Natalie

A summer saunter off road requires a kit combination that is as comfortable as it is in the heat as it is comfortable for a day on the gravel bike. Daisy chose MAAP clothing for this ride and combined it with a Specialized helmet and shoe combo. Keeping the Specialized theme going, Daisy rode a Specialized Crux Comp DSW Gravel Bike.

Natalie has long been a fan of Universal Colours' range, so it was no surprise to see she opted for a number of key Universal Colours items for this ride. Combining those with a Specialized helmet and pair of Specialized shoes, Natalie finished off the look wearing her Oakley Sutro sunglasses. Natalie rode a Specialized Comp Carbon Gravel Bike.
