Celebrating their 64th year of manufacturing and designing some of the most sought-after frames in the game, Colnago have released the C64 Road Semi-Integrated Disc Frameset with high geometry.

With understated Italian style and constructed from top quality carbon fibre, you can build up your dream bike that will perfectly blend stiffness, strength and comfort, with a supreme ride quality. Just as well suited to climbing as it is to sprinting along the flats, this frameset is designed for disc brakes so you can take advantage of powerful braking for a confidence inspiring ride in all conditions.

Colnago C64 Road Semi-Integrated Disc Frameset (High Geometry)

The knowledge and experience of Ernesto Colnago is clearly visible in every handmade frame Colnago produce, and the C64 Road Semi-Integrated Disc Frameset is the outcome of over 2 years of research and development. Released in celebration of the company's 64th year, the latest in their flagship 'C' range features a number of updates to improve stiffness, comfort and ride quality over its predecessor the C60, all the while retaining the understated Italian style that Colnago are renowned for.

The frameset is constructed from the finest carbon fibre, with a UD (unidirectional) finish that is lighter that the 3K carbon finish of its predecessor. The high geometry is perfect for putting most riders in the optimum position, with the slightly higher head tube eliminating the need for a stack of spacers under the stem.

With a fully redesigned fork that has a new external rib shape, both side and front stiffness are increased and the internal rib in the steerer tube improves overall strength. Housing the nut for the top cap, there is no need for an expander plug and the C/D steerer tube shape ensures the brake housing has neat aesthetics. The fork length has been extended by 5mm for accommodating larger tyres and although the thru axle remains at 12mm, it is now a threaded system to reduce weight. The dropouts are constructed from lightweight full carbon.

Similar in shape to the C60 headtube, the material is now thinner and lighter and the subtly revised shape improves side stiffness. Due to its proven performance, technology from the Concept headset has been utilised and the material in the upper cup updated to a polymer composed of carbon and a mix of nylon and elastomers. The result is improved vibration damping so the chance of fatigue developing in your hands and arms is reduced, particularly when the roads are rough.

The heavily shaped downtube has been borrowed from the C60 however the lower portion has been narrowed and better matches the rear triangle. A recessed area for the bottle cage not only integrates components and reduces drag but creates two long ribs around the middle of the tubing to increase torsional stiffness. If you choose a mechanical setup, the cable stops are now located on the downtube, behind the headtube, hidden out of the wind.

One of the most significant changes is that the seat tube and seat tube lug now meet and form a single piece; ensuring stiffness is increased and weight is kept low. A hidden integrated clamp replaces a top-loaded two-piece clamp and a single removable part is now tightened from the bottom. Not only does this provide clean aesthetics in fitting with the rest of the frame, the bottom pull concept also provides increased locking strength as the rider weight increases ensuring the seatpost is less likely to slip. The seatpost itself is similar to that of the V2-R with a more aerodynamic design than the classic round 31.6mm post. Vertical compliance is improved so road buzz is soaked up, for improved comfort especially important for long days in the saddle.

The ThreadFit82.5 bottom bracket standard remains but the lug has the cable guide moulded into it, saving weight and expanding the radius to improve shifting performance. Insertion of the chainstays is now asymmetric with the left one being far wider, resulting in more efficient power transfer.

In the rear triangle, the dropouts are now a part of the chainstays for a one-piece construction that is lighter with more vertical compliance while remaining just as laterally stiff. The 12mm thru axles are now threaded and the seat stays are light and have been designed for the fitment of 28mm tyres.
