This jacket is very light and packable (not quite jersey-pocket-size but fits nicely in my top tube bag), and so far it's been totally waterproof through some heavy tropical downpours (3+hrs of driving rain and hours more light rain and drizzle). Breathability is OK, but not great - it gets hot and clammy inside faster than I expected when climbing in the rain, but the double zip helps to regulate my body heat a bit. The hood is amazing - it fits perfectly over my helmet, stays locked in place at all speeds, and has great lateral visibility. The only real negative of this jacket so far is that when you pack it into its pocket, there is a small hook of material on one end of the zip that looks like it's there to hold on to for leverage when you unzip the bag. It isn't. The second time I went to unzip it, the hook ripped off and left a hole in the top of the pocket inside the jacket. As I'm travelling for the next few months I can't send it back for a replacement, so I just sewed it back up. Thankfully the hole is only on the inside of the pocket, so it doesn't let any water in, but this should not happen on a jacket at this price point. Size seems on the large side - I'm usually between an L and XL, so ordered the L and it's still roomy enough to fit a lightweight down jacket underneath.

1) Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the measuring tape horizontal.
2) Waist: Measure around the narrowest part (below the bottom rib an above the hip bones), keeping the tape horizontal.
3) Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape horizontal.
4) Arm Length: Measure from the highest point of your shoulder following your bent arm down to wrist bone. Bend your arm slightly.
5) Inside Leg: Measure from the top of your inner leg along the inside seam to the bottom of your leg.

I have other Gore products so I know they perform amazingly well. Fit was my biggest concern, I needn't have been concerned as the fit was spot on. I'm a big guy, 110kg , 46 chest. I went with XXL . Plenty of room for layers but not too baggy, great length in the arms. I've read this can be worn off the bike but you can tell it is engineered for cycling, it has that fit like Assos jackets that come into their own when reaching for the bars. Very happy customer!
