Worth every penny. After an accident that took an age to settle, I’d been looking at cameras to help if something bad happened again. After a bit of research, I settled on the Garmin front and rear lights. They were a little fiddly to set up, once the firmware was updated I had to remove and add again to my devices before they would sync to my Garmin light network. Video resolution is good with little shake. You loose a little of the full 4K resolution for the image stabilisation, I have read. Only gripe is no memory card. A bit cheap or Garmin. Don’t bother with cheap SD cards, get a decent one. I learnt the hard way. Buy cheap, buy twice. The mount system is very good and appears sturdy after a few dozen rides. I bought a rubber cover for extra protection because I am, and likely always will be, clumsy.

Varia Vue records footage in 4K resolution for sharp playback and reliable incident capture. The integrated headlight features multiple lighting modes and automatic brightness control, which adjusts based on speed and ambient light. A cutoff beam reduces light intensity above the cutoff line to help preserve the vision of oncoming drivers, pedestrians, and other cyclists.
Camera and headlight settings can be adjusted at any time using a compatible Edge bike computer or the Varia smartphone app. Rear-facing footage can be recorded simultaneously with the Varia RCT715 radar camera tail light, allowing it to be paired with front-facing footage from the Varia Vue.
Varia Vue App
The Varia app also allows control of camera and light functions, video editing, and the addition of data overlays. If an incident is detected, the camera automatically saves footage from before, during, and after the event.
A discreet built-in microphone records clear audio to enhance the footage.
For secure video storage and automatic upload of locked footage via Wi-Fi, a Garmin Vault subscription can be activated through the Varia app. The Varia Vue requires a memory card (not included) and supports a range of memory card capacities.

I have been using a Cycliq for a few years, but when the battery started to go, I knew I had to replace it. I have Garmin everything else, so I was glad Gamin had finally released a light/camera for the front, having used the RCTs for the rear for some time. This device is fantastic, the camera is top quality - BUT YOU MUST SET IT UP with the Varia app, otherwise it defaults to rubbish settings. Also, make sure you buy a decent microsd card, I recommend sandisk extreme so you will have no trouble with the card keeping up with the camera. Light is very bright and the modes are great. Mounting is via a gopro style bolt which is secure, but not as easy as the twist on flavour, and you have a tether included which is elasticated. I bought an after market silicone case too. The camera is not light, which won't please the aero bods looking to shave off ounces, but from a safety perspective paired with the RCT 915 and a Garmin 1050 computer, you cannot go wrong.
