Self-tapping screws worked fine straight into brick wall (after drilling the suggested size holes first), and after attaching the anchor itself it is rock solid. Fits a heavy duty Kryptonite Sold Secure Gold chain just fine (it’s much larger than you might think it is looking at the product photos).
