Health issues led me to the dark side - an e-bike! I replaced my Cube gravel bike which had SRAM AXS with this Trek. I am amazed and wish I’d gone e-bike sooner. I now look forward to getting out. The assist from the motor is very natural. I keep it in low most of the time but use medium and full on the Cornish hills. I am doing 20 - 25 miles with a range of 300m to 700m ascent. My times are good but it is still great exercise. I still have to work and, according to my Garmin which uses power and heart rate, I am still burning reasonably serious calories. It feels very strange to do 17% hills at around 10 mph with 80+ rpm cadence rather than my usual trudge at around 3 mph with less than 50 rpm. I have already done routes I have not been able to do for a few years. Range is good. With a mixture of hills using all power levels I can probably get 40 miles. It still needs riding but feels like me 25 years ago!! Sigma Sports had it at a great price and were really good to deal with. I am 5'10” and they recommended a size M even though the Trek size calculator suggested size M/L - great advice.
