On Thursday 30th October 2014 Sigma Sports hosted the second annual #Rule9 Winter Event- an evening dedicated to all things winter cycling. A wide range of prizes were up for grabs throughout the evening, as well as an open workshop with demos and Q&A sessions. Rapha were also on hand, speaking about their evolvement with Team Sky.
Drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was buzzing as some of cycling's leading brands showcased their winter gear. There was everything from the Oakley High Mass Test machine, which showed just how strong Oakley glasses are, to a demonstration of Endura's dynamic pressure mapping system, which determines the correct seat pad size for their semi custom shorts. All the leading brands were in attendance including Assos, Castelli, Endura, Etixx Sports, Exposure Lights, Gore Bike Wear, Rapha, Sportful and Tacx.
Etixx Sports welcomed people in with their range of tasty nutrition products and samples. They also gave lots of helpful advice on fuelling correctly on the bike, especially in the coldest winter months.
Workshop manager, Mark was on hand throughout the evening demonstrating the most efficient way to change an inner tube as well as sharing a range of other helpful roadside repair tips.
Laura Bower from Rapha was in attendance and gave a very insightful talk on their relationship with Team Sky and how they dress one of the world’s best teams. She also explained how this translates to the Rapha range for riders outside the professional peloton.
The prize draws continued throughout the evening with some very happy customers walking away with top of the range winter cycle clothing, eyewear and lights.
Tacx were on the upper floor giving keen customers the chance to try their Vortex Smart Turbo Trainer, an ideal option when the winter weather starts to bite. Exposure Lights brightened up the ground floor with their extensive range of front and rear lights and demonstrations throughout the evening.
