Two loops, two groups and one fantastic day of cycling guaranteed. Join us for our Late August Oakham Social Ride on Saturday 20th August. Free to join, our social ride starts and finishes at the Sigma Sports store in Oakham. Each ride will have a non-drop policy, with the focus of this ride being to meet new people and explore the local roads.

Two routes are available, depending on the group you opt to ride with. Group one will be heading out from our Oakham store on a 50km loop that takes in the picturesque roads around Gaddesby and features the ascent of Burrough on the Hill. A rolling route, you can expect to clock up 468 metres of elevation before returning to the Sigma Sports Oakham store to enjoy some well deserved refreshments. Should you choose to join group two you will be treated to a slightly shorter loop of 47kms, which also loops out to Burrough on the Hill but features a slightly lower 450 metres of elevation gain.

The ride will be split into two groups:

Group one will average 16-18mph and is ideal for those who are looking for a simple, social ride that'll get you home in time for lunch.

 

Group two will average 13-15mph, which is perfect for anyone new to the sport, or even for those who have been riding for a while but haven’t ridden in a group before and would like to gain a bit more experience.
