July Oakham Social Ride

Has the Tour de France inspired you to get out on two wheels? If so, you are in for a treat with our Late July Oakham Social Ride that heads out on Saturday 23rd July from the Sigma Sports Oakham store.

Free to join, follow the link above to sign up for one of our two different groups leaving the store. Each ride will have a non-drop policy, with the focus of this ride being to meet new people and explore the local roads.

Two groups, two routes. Yes, we have two fantastic routes planned for the Saturday. Group one will be tackling a 53km loop, north of our Oakham store, covering 476 metres of elevation and taking in the sights of Ashwell, South Witham and Pickworth as the group rolls through the stunning Rutland scenery. Group two will head out on a very similar route, with 49kms on the menu, 435 metres of elevation and a chance for riders to stretch their legs on the climb of Burley. Both routes will start and finish at the Sigma Sports Oakham store where riders will be able to enjoy a post-ride coffee.

The ride will be split into two groups:

Group one will average 16-18mph and is ideal for those who are looking for a simple, social ride that'll get you home in time for lunch.

 

Group two will average 13-15mph, which is perfect for anyone new to the sport, or even for those who have been riding for a while but haven’t ridden in a group before and would like to gain a bit more experience.
