The ENVE SES Disc Clincher Rim Brake Rear Wheel optimises key metrics required in developing a wheel that will work with the rider when speeds exceed 27mph. Aerodynamics, rolling resistance, braking and ride quality are all precisely considered to develop a wheel that will perform for the fastest athletes on the biggest stages of road cycling and triathlon.
Developed in collaboration with Computational Fluid Dynamics experts, rigorous testing in the Mercedes AMG Formula One wind tunnel subtly refined the shape to deliver industry-leading aerodynamics and efficiency at high speeds.
To give you maximum confidence, the wheel features a textured full carbon braking track, which allows water to be expelled instantly and consequently achieves near equal performance in either wet or dry conditions. Spread-Tow carbon fibre fabrics allow for a thinner laminate due to their even distribution, and as such this keeps weight down without compromising strength.
Fundamental to the stiffness and durability of the SES Disc is its use of a PMI core, an advanced closed-cell foam that features superior impact resistance and strength. Furthermore, the one-piece moulded construction and lack of bonded joints eliminate points of weakness. A moulded valve window provides plenty of room for pump attachments, and the rim is fully tubeless compatible for faster rolling, exceptional puncture resistance and greater comfort.
