Engineered for polka dot jersey contenders and riders who thrive on steep climbs, the Roval Alpinist CLX 3 Wheelset is the lightest road wheelset Roval has ever made. At just 1,131g with valves and tape, it sheds 134g from its predecessor, the Alpinist CLX II. A new lightweight hub and Roval Aero Composite Spokes by ARRIS contribute to a 103.5g system weight saving, while being 20% stronger than steel. The result is proven in performance, helping Demi Vollering climb the Tourmalet five seconds faster than ever before.
Roval Precision Engineering
The Alpinist CLX III features a 33mm rim depth front and rear, with a 27mm external width and 21mm internal width optimised for 28mm tyres. The Roval LF Hub is equipped with DT Swiss 180 EXP 36T internals and SINC ceramic bearings, delivering smooth, efficient performance.

Exclusive to Roval, these spokes redefine what’s possible in wheel design. Compared to traditional steel spokes, they are 20% stronger for higher spoke tension and lateral stiffness, 103.5g lighter per wheel system to reduce rotational mass, and smoother, effectively damping road vibrations. The result is a lighter, stronger, and more responsive ride.
