Description
Roval Terra Aero CLX Carbon Wheelset
Introducing the Terra Aero CLX III Wheelset: Gravel racing now demands the same level of aerodynamic discipline historically reserved for World Tour races. Riders are pushing deeper into speed ranges where aero drag matters, and they’re doing it on rougher terrain with bigger tyres. Up to 5.84 watts faster than the previous generation, this wheelset features a first-of-its-kind 50mm chopped aero speed design, specifically engineered to slice through the wind while maintaining stability in unpredictable conditions.
At a remarkably light 1,340g, the Terra Aero CLX III redefines what is possible for a deep-section gravel rim. The staggered 50mm front and 45mm rear depths are paired with a massive 38.5mm external width to perfectly support modern, high-volume gravel tyres. Internally, the DT Swiss 180 EXP hub with a 36T ratchet provides the instant engagement and low-friction performance needed for elite competition. Combined with Roval aero composite spokes by Arris, this system offers the perfect blend of raw speed and the rugged compliance required to dominate the most technical race courses.
Furthermore, this wheelset is engineered to bridge the gap between high-velocity efficiency and the brutal reality of unpaved racing. The wider internal rim profile provides superior sidewall support, allowing you to run lower pressures for maximum traction without sacrificing the aerodynamic profile of the tyre. This results in a ride that feels remarkably planted and stable, even when crosswinds catch you on exposed, high-speed sectors. Hand-built with precision and featuring robust bead hook technology, these rims are designed to withstand the impacts of loose flint and deep ruts, providing the definitive aerodynamic advantage for the modern gravel racer.
